I built PincodesInfo to solve a real problem I faced — finding accurate PIN codes quickly was frustratingly difficult. What started as a personal tool has grown into a directory of 19,591 PIN codes and 165,609 post offices, built from the directory India Post publishes. I personally oversee all data accuracy, editorial standards, and site improvements.

The accuracy and reliability of our data is our top priority. All PIN code information on PincodesInfo comes from the All India Pincode Directory published by the Department of Posts on data.gov.in under the Government Open Data License – India. We correct errors we can verify, such as offices listed under the wrong state, but the source itself contains mistakes and India Post revises it from time to time, so we cannot guarantee every entry. PincodesInfo is independent and is not affiliated with India Post or the Government of India.
Our data includes comprehensive details for each PIN code, including the official post office name, office type classification (Head Office, Sub Office, Branch Office), delivery status (Delivery or Non-Delivery), district, state, division, region, and geographic coordinates where available.
Our dataset is refreshed from India Post in bulk rather than continuously — the current load is from March 2026 — and reflects PIN codes, office relocations and delivery status as published at that point. Records are taken from India Post's directory rather than estimated, and where the published coordinates for an office look unreliable we omit the map and distance instead of showing a wrong location. If you notice a discrepancy or an outdated entry, please contact us so we can investigate and correct it.
